Original artwork description:

Emotions about the past gave rise to the imagery in this painting. Remembering the past can cause mixed feelings. Our memories are very fragmentary and might arise from a letter, a torn photo. Perhaps we recreate our own sense and a new version of things that took place. I chose crimson as the backround colour for this painting to express the warmth and the pain of looking backwards.
