My grandfather was a Merchant Sea Captain Irish by birth. He was sent to sea.
His documents show him as a cabin boy on a sail vessel was his first taste of seamanship.
So I depicted the type of ship my grandfather Alfred would of started his career, cutting north across to Canada
Here the wooden ship battles a storm and iced sea! A wooden hull sealed and copper plated such courage and respect to all maritimers! God protect you
