During a trip to Texas near the border on or around South Padre Beach I captured some photos which I have used here of a Northern Caracara. It was such a change from the birds found up in Canada I knew I had to paint it. I just loved the dusky colors of the sky and the majestic look of the mighty Caracara with it's cool looking "haircut" haha.

williamsburg handmade oils gamblin oils, lindseed oil
