The Northern bald ibis was hunted to extinction in Europe over three hundred years ago. Thanks to a reintroduction project, started in the 2000’s, the current European population stands (or flys) at about 200 individuals.

This is the most unusual bird of the series so far, from the swooping curve of its beak to the explosion of feathers at the back of it's bald head, the ibis really is a unique and wonderful bird!

Some primitive block making from me provided a great textured background to build from.

A4 acrylic, pencil and ink on paper.

Materials used:

Pencil and acrylic on 250gsm paper.
