Original artwork description:

The ‘North Sea’ draws viewer’s attention to a structure collapse within its scenery. What we see is the absence of the horizon line and that the viewer’s perspective point appears to float above the water. The viewer is invited to contemplate the mentioned water through the eyes of the painter. From the visual perspective, the painter seems to be standing at some elevation lowering her head, which reflects her deep immersion into own thoughts.

The painting is executed in a restrained palette. It depicts some body of water, visually similar to typical ones to be found in a Nordic country.

Gray color becomes your surrounding, it fills up the space for many months and becomes an integral part of everyday life. Occasional sun peeks through thick clouds in glimpses and at this point simple gray naturally blends into silver, steel or tin colors. Solar flares brighten the space up, offering a hope for a soon return of the rest of the colors.

It is at such moments that noticing details is highly significant, together with seeing the beauty in both shades of gray and mundaneness and moving along your life’s path further on, carrying the experience you have been charged with.
