I was inspired to paint this scene after my son texted me this picture that he took while visiting Utah to celebrate his birthday. I love mountains and buttes and enjoy painting them. I am highly motivated by strong color & light and tend to push those colors so they are more vivid and bright. I also love rivers, streams, and creeks, ever since I was a young boy wading the creek near my grandmother's house. Perhaps you can imagine that you are there looking down the river and I hope you enjoy viewing this painting as much as I did painting it.
