North Dorset chalk hills
Spring morning light,
Shimmering blues,
Conifer hedge line,
Bluebells,
A walk at Wincombe park.

Words and expression of seeing this recently in April. It was so lovely to see the bluebells on a quiet walk just on the border of North Dorset and West Wiltshire.
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425gsm 200lb.
I used pearlised Japanese watercolours to create the colours for this small landscape scene. Created back in the studio after I had been there. I enjoyed using these type of paints as they were very different to my usual. I used graduated washes with a sable hair brush for the sky and then a mixture of the pearlised paint for the hills and bluebell meadow. I had to be delicate in my approach with the foreground detail placing the colours in little dashes and dots.
I have signed, titled and dated the original watercolour on the back of the artwork,
