I wrote this light picturesque study when I was in Normandy in France. I wanted to convey the sunny spring day of those lands. Cows add to the sketch a feeling of lightness and carelessness, the dimension of every day. The work is done with a palette knife with oil paints in the style of impressionism on canvas pasted on thick cardboard.
