PORTRAITS series

I started portraying my uncle Giovanni's dogs because I realized that I wanted to overcome another obstacle, that of appearance.

Petit gascogne saintongeois are wild boar hunting dogs and are bred and raised for that purpose. I chose to paint these dogs precisely because I wanted them to look beyond appearances: with different eyes I caught their character, I stopped their exuberance, laziness and shyness, their elegance in facing me ...
Noble was his name, he was elegant in his bearing, shy and did not like to be photographed.

this work participated in the exhibition Animals & other stories SPAZIO ARTE ‘Angiolino Spallanzani’ Barco di Bibbiano (RE) in 2019, it was published in the calendar of the municipality of Sorbolo for the year 2019 (November).
