Artwork description:

This print shows an old rusty sign at the site of Teesside Steelworks in front of a very blue sky. Dorman Long was one of the steel-making firms that was nationalised in the late 1960s becoming part of British Steel.

It's an original reduction linocut print, using just one block of lino and a process of carving away the lino between each layer of colour to produce the final image.

It is a limited print from an edition of 10 prints using Zerkall extra smooth printing paper, 145gsm and Lawrence linseed oil relief printing inks. The image size is 30.5cm x 30.5cm with a generous margin to allow for framing. There are two versions - one with a blue sky (version 1), one without (version 2).

My linocuts are handmade from start to finish - hand carved, inked and handprinted, and as such they will have small variations between prints - making each print into a unique artwork. All of my prints are flat packed if delivered within the UK, and will be sent packaged in tissue and a tube if delivered outside of the UK.

If you have any questions, please just get in touch and thanks for taking a look!
