All around the world people sit at tables and try to find a way out of something. Here, three lawyers grapple with their latest predicament. It may well be that more time is put into rearguard action than in making headway. The three figures in this picture are drawn from a painting by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch (1863—1944) titled 'Jurisprudence'. Beside translating the picture into print, my other alteration has been to update the office paraphernalia. When Munch's painting first appeared it was lambasted by commentators of the day but Munch often portrayed genuine life struggles, through which he hoped to encourage people.
Technical note
This print is made from high quality materials and should present no keeping difficulties. The print is pulled from a relief plate, cut from a sheet of rubber. The print run produced an edition of five copies. The sheet measures 250 x 250 mm.
