Original artwork description:

Here is a portrait of the renowned jazz/soul/pop singer, Nina Simone. Nina recorded over 40 albums during her volatile and unpredictable lifetime (she died in 2003 at the age of 70). She was a dedicated civil rights activists during all of her adult years, and many of her songs reflect that attitude. Some of my personal favorite songs are Sinnerman, take me to the water, feeling good and Ooh Child. All of these can be seen and heard on .
This is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art and no authorized copies will ever be made. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Note that colors produced digitally are not ever as vivid as the original. You can expect the colors on my paintings to be somewhat more intense than shown on these online photos.

All of my artwork is done on 4 mil thick, archival grade drafting mylar.
It is tough, waterproof, inert, flexible, dimensionally stable, and it does not have to be stretched, like canvas and watercolor paper.
Mylar is easy to mount on any type of hardboard. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell. As an option for the buyer, I can mount the painting on tempered masonite with a hanging strip on the back. There will be an extra charge for this of 30% of the sale price. The extra charge may be increased for areas outside the U.S. and Canada.
