‘NIGHT WATCHMAN’ is an acrylic painting 28x20 cms on 300gms canvas paper. It is presented in a white card mount 35x28cms. It is part of a series of works which focus on ‘garden’ environments. Memory is central to my work. I rarely make art work directly from what I see at ‘the time’ more likely from recollections of places and events. ‘Night Watchman’ recalls viewing a space at twilight time. A garden space. It is simply a matter of seeing and feeling. The fleeting nature of such moments are a frequent part of my work. There are three people in this picture , all deep in light conversation following an evening meal.
