This long eared owl seems very alert and watchful. Darkness of the night surrounds him, which seems only natural.The painting was done with a very wet brush, letting the colors mingle with each other freely. Payne's Grey and French Ultramarine Blue were used to create the impression of a dappled, dark background.The owl almost hides in plain sight- there are no hard edges in this painting.
