Original artwork description:

An oil painting which takes inspiration for both composition and title from Hopper's "Night Hawks". It is a night time scene of a corner shop in Brynmill Lane in Brynmill, Swansea, Wales, UK.
This composition is partly also due to the recent installation of LED streetlights which almost allow daylight into night time scenes and illuminate certain areas and certain objects such as trees in a manner not previously possible.
I have attempted to explore this frission between murky night light and brilliant artificial "day" light in a number of paintings, this being one of them, in a greater "day for night" series.
