Original artwork description:

This Original One of a Kind Acrylic artwork is created on a 36x24 stretched canvas. This artwork depicts an Old Viking warrior standing on a mountainside looking down on two Viking long ships making their way down a river. This moonlit winter scene depicts a giant Owl perched on his shoulders... spreading its wings around him. By his side stands a giant white Wolf watching as the scene unfolds before them. The title of this one is , "Night of the Owl and Wolf." Below is a story that floated in my mind as I put the paint to the canvas.

This artwork is Sold UNFRAMED, but we have attached a pic of it framed for your consideration of how it might look framed.

A Short story for this artwork.

It has been 30 years since I had seen these two long ships from his village. I recognized the dragon heads on their bow. I was a young warrior wanna-be when he joined a raiding party to the shores of a land far far from his home. It was on the banks of this exact river when I was tasked to gather berries on the shoreline. I was attacked by a raging bear when I stumbled on one slumbering in the bush. My fellow warriors on board the ships could have saved me… but they just laughed and enjoyed the show of watching a bear tear me apart. They were all evil vial men. I lay in the mud for days… praying to my gods only to drift off into blackness. On the third day I opened my eyes to see an old hermit sitting next to me tending my wounds. Many days later I was able to sit up and looked around the cave the hermit had taken me to. I told him I was thankful my gods had saved me. The Old man responded, “Your gods did not save you… My God did!” I started to rise up in anger, but I passed out from the pain of my injuries. When I woke up again we continued our conversation. He told me I had not escaped death yet. Infection was rampant and there was a very good chance I would die. Fear overwhelmed me. He told me the only chance I had was for me to ask his God for salvation and he might save me for his purpose. This I did with his instruction and guidance. He told me he was told by his God that I would be saved if I vowed to protect the village my raiding party had attacked. I would have to do this for the rest of my life. I agreed. The old man trained me in fighting techniques and all the teachings of his Christian God. Finding my Savior Jesus Christ brought to me such peace and purpose. I became a son to that Old Hermit and he became my Father. The people of the village I had vowed to protect became my family. My Father was very old when we met. A decade later he told me he felt he would go to the Father soon. We were walking near the bank of the river where the bear had almost taken my life. He told me he had spoken to the Father and his time was at hand and he would be going home soon. He told me he had not finished my training of the fighting abilities he had hoped to teach me… But God said he would send two souls to finish the job for me. He pointed to an area down the shore and said that "They were here!" I looked and there on the shore was a large Owl and a Giant White Wolf. “They will teach you stealth and cunning so you may honor your vow valiantly ” he said as he turned and left. They did just that after my earthly hermit Father passed. They trained me for the last 20 years. Now we stand together as we wait to wreak retribution on the evil men below… On this silent and holy night. I know with all my heart I was saved by God for this moment.. for this purpose.
