Original artwork description:

New York City’s skyline is dotted with wooden water towers that are easy to mistake for vanishing relics of the bygone eras.

But what many New Yorkers don’t realize is the towers are hardly antiques — in fact, most drink and bathe from the water stored in them every day.
Most buildings in the city taller than six stories need some sort of water tower and pumping system to provide water pressure to tenants.

Why do people think wood water towers are relics of the past?
Because they look as though they are.

This painting is a one-of-a-kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I only sell original work so there will only be one original and no authorized copies will ever be made. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
NEW YORK WATER TANKS is painted on 4 mil. archival grade drafting mylar with a laminated opaque backing on tempered masonite board . The mylar is tough, waterproof, inert, flexible, dimensionally stable, and it does not have to be stretched, like canvas and watercolor paper.
This painting will be ready to hang, out of the box. It will be mounted on tempered masoneit with a one inch border and 1.5" wooden frame all around. It will have a hanging strip on the back and I include a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall.

Materials used:
