"New Town" is a playful painting using monotone grey hues accompanied by icy blue colorblocks and pops of red and orange. Fluid, black lines interrupt the architectural forms in "New Town", creating a hazy and transitional feel. The piece was inspired by the freeform architecture of the South Korea's 2018 Olympic Village. "New Town" is a place where athletes from across the world unite under the shared desire to be the champion of their respective nation. It's a place that is ever changing as new countries attain the privilege to host the Olympics. Every 4 years a new and unique iteration of the Olympic Village is constructed in conjunction with the values of the host country; "New Town" is ever-changing, forever new and forever in flux.
Oil on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Edges are painted and the work may be hung straight out of the box or framed.
