“New time” fragment of canvas (without canvas board), acrylic, sanguine, 80x100cm, 2022

I was inspired to paint this picture by a trip to the city of Santiago, Spain. it was in the museum of St. Jacob's Cathedral that I found a sculptural relief of 1350 made of granite, which fell into my heart. An angel, a lion and a book were depicted there.

I create a composition through the prism of new times and my feelings towards the world.

A peasant girl in modernized Ukrainian folk clothes holds her hand on her heart, and the other reaches for a book, for Kobzar - this book reminds her of her childhood and carefree times when she spent time reading.

And a faithful friend and protector is a cat. Closely follows the viewer of this picture.
