The desert air is already warm and dry as it blows against your skin, tugging at your hair. The haze is lifting from the distant mountains. It is going to be another hot summer day, the type you would expect here in the open spaces of New Mexico. Small yellow flowers begin to open on the nearby cactus, faint but fragrant scent. This is the beauty of the desert.
