Nowadays there are certain stereotypes about woman's appearance, modern society tells girls how they should look like. As a result almost every girl has an inferiority complex and starts to hide behind a mask, creating a new fake image.

I'm working on the serias of portraits depicting young girls who have some challenges in their lifes. The portrait of Nastya is the part of it. The young girl is unconscious of her beauty and I wanted to show it. That's why looking at the picture you may think a mirror is missing. I painted an image of the wonderful girl who is lost in thoughts and unaware of her beauty, trying to hide from the cruel world. She looks like a sculpture. She doesn't want to hear what people talk, she just wants a harmony and peace with herself. This girl is like a ray of light in the dark world of worries and prejudices. After finishing the portrait Nastya saw herself in a new way, so I reached my goal.

As a modern artist I want to show that women are beautiful throughout the ages, not only on Renaissance canvases. I've focused on classic "contrapposto" and attributes showing girl's belonging to the modern society. By the means of painting I image a pure natural beauty of people who don't even notice it. I am sure that such sensitive and emotional themes are very important and necessary in modern art.
