This painting marks a breakthrough in my artistic exploration, where the boundaries between waking reality and dreamlike dimensions blur into a singular vision. At first glance, it presents itself as a painting of a squirrel monkey—playful, familiar, and charming. However, as you look closer, layers of surreal and otherworldly imagery emerge, revealing intricate dimensions shaped by my REM intrusion hallucinations. These vivid intrusions, where my brain slips into dream states while I’m awake, infuse the painting with a unique depth, where hidden forms and shifting perceptions come alive. It’s not just a portrait of nature but an invitation to peer into alternate realities that coexist within a single frame. This is a reflection of the subconscious unfolding in real-time—beautiful, unsettling, and endlessly intriguing.
