Just a few accents here and there are enough for our brain to interpret an abstract picture as something recognisable. In this case a dark horizon line in addition to the blurred light round object above it have turned this abstraction into the clearly recognisable depiction of the sun rise above the sea. At second glance you may even recognise the sandy shore line at the bottom of this oil painting. Rough texture of the oil paint adds a special impression to the artwork.
