These "discombobulated" images all share a similar fascination with how altering the human face has such pronounced effect on our emotional response to the painting. Painting in a discombobulated style also allows an artist to express profound psychological states such as dissociation. It expresses that which cannot be expressive via figurative means, such as the feelings expressed here of never minding to consider yourself in face of other's actions.
