''Nestinar Dance'' is an abstract oil painting on canvas stretched over a wooden subframe.
I was inspired by the Thracians, who lived on our lands from the 2nd century BC to the 6th century AD. It is about an ancient Thracian custom and ritual that takes place in the month of May, when the Thracians believed that the sun was reborn. Then the firemen danced with their bare feet on the embers. In Strandzha mountain, to this day, on May 21, the day of St. Constantine and Helena, the firemen dance on burning coals. Trust me, it's magical!
Oils, acrylic, gesso, charcoal, on canvas and wooden subframe.
