Neist Point peninsula on Skye.

This is an acrylic painting of Neist Point Peninsula on the Isle of Skye.
This painting was done from a reference sketch and a couple of photographs.
My photograph had no sunset but my sketch did.
I incorporated both into the painting as I felt the openness of the horizon needed a sunset.
The painting was done over the course of a couple of weeks in my studio.
Normally I would apply a coloured glaze over the painting but on this occasion I have left it as is.
Sometimes I think the view says it all.
I have used some texture medium mostly in the foreground so there are some humps and bumps to emphasise the ruggedness of the area.
The painting is coated in two coats of varnish to protect it
