"Beauty has come" is how the name of the Great Queen of Ancient Egypt is translated. The beauty of Nefertiti was praised by poets and artists. Legends tell that the queen was revered as the Goddess, daughter of the Sun. And the Egyptian cat is a sacred animal with mystical power and knowing the secrets of the other world.
In Zaza Kharabadze's painting, iconic images of historical sculptural forms, a portrait bust of Queen Nefertiti and a figurine of an Egyptian cat acquire a new artistic language. The diptych painting is divided and at the same time it is one, has a common composition and background. In the new interpretation, the sculptural forms are solved in one piece, keeping the symbolism and recognizability of ancient monuments. The juxtaposition of a monochromatic stylized sculpture and a multi-colored background emphasizes the value of the historical plot. In an abstract landscape, the life-giving Sun illuminates the lands of Ancient Egypt. The bright colors of the background seem to carve out the silhouettes of the sculptures. So, in the painting "Nefertiti" the painter Zaza Kharabadze praises the cult of beauty and eternal life of the Ancient civilization.
