Artwork description:

I grew up on a farm with six sisters. The girl in this image is a composite of me and my sisters. I love to draw flowers and shells and birds, so I surrounded the girl with these images from nature. And I put an old-fashioned, decorative frame around the entire picture because I see myself in a small, confined spot on this planet, surrounded by nature.

Materials used:

I drew onto linoleum, cut it out, and printed the image using oil-based ink onto Italian Fabriano paper.
