Simplification and choosing what to exclude from an image is sometimes very hard. For this particular sunrise, there was so much going on that I wanted to include everything. As is often the case with this approach, closer inspection revealed some aspects weren’t working cohesively, so I honed in on this section and then waited for the best stage of colouration in the sky. The mackerel sky was soon glowing bright pink in an intense light display, but this picture offered the optimum balance. Splashes of colour and different patterns all coming together on the Sea Wall in Lymington.
