Hello,
Springtime is here!
I love doing the Rothko thing, and for this work I've used lively and warm springtime colours instead of the deep blues that I normally like.
The canvas has been worked with several thin layers of paint to build the depth of colour in each colour zone. I love the deep yellow next to the purple and the gash of Naples yellow at the top of the painting. The central zone has been extensively scumbled to create a cloud like effect.
