The artist visited Naples, Florida for a week and watched the sunset over the Gulf every day. On this particular day, a cluster of clouds created the perfect layout for a sunset landscape painting. The artist remembers feeling at peace as she felt the warm sun set toward the horizon and watched sea birds fly over the calm water in front of her. She snapped some reference photos and completed this painting later in her studio.
This original painting was awarded "Best in Show" at the 2021 Westmoreland National Juried Exhibition.
