NAPLES MOUNT VESUVIUS BY MOON is a textured impasto palette knife oil painting on 3D canvas, sizes 20x15 cm ( 8x6 inches), depth 5 cm ( 2 inches ). The painting continues on the deep edges of the canvas. I traveled few times to Naples, Italy and was inspired to paint this gorgeous night view.

Naples ( Napoli ) is the regional capital of Campania and the third-largest city of Italy, after Rome and Milan. Founded by Greeks in the first millennium BC, Naples is one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban areas in the world.

Mount Vesuvius is a somma–stratovolcano located on the Gulf of Naples in Campania, Italy, about 9 km (5.6 mi) east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. It is one of several volcanoes forming the Campanian volcanic arc. Vesuvius consists of a large cone partially encircled by the steep rim of a summit caldera, resulting from the collapse of an earlier, much higher structure. The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Stabiae and other settlements.

A vibrant cityscape under a bright, swirling night sky features glowing lights reflecting on the water, creating a dynamic and colorful scene. Lush greenery lines the foreground, contrasting with the deep blues and purples of the night. The moon illuminates the mountainous landscape in the background.
