A profile portrait of the model I use a lot in my paintings, Naomi Wood who has long red hair with red dreads. I wanted the whole painting to be in a narrow range of reds, oranges and some yellows. I set her against a red sky and used transparent paint on her hair to try and imitate the vividness of it's colour.
