Artwork description:

Original limited edition linocut print inspired by the glorious view meandering through local forests during my time in Kenya. This small yet mighty linocut is a snippet of the magnificent Nandi Flame tree standing proud with its flame-red flowers striking amidst the glowing equatorial sun.

My method of working up a reduction linocut print begins with an initial, loose plan of the colours and number of layers involved. The print then evolves intuitively as layers are built up from light to dark or taking them down again from dark to light.

Part of the Garden Plants of Kenya series - a body of work exploring equatorial and tropical urban flora in print form produced during my year in Kenya.

Nandi Flame is a 9 layer reduction print. Signed and numbered edition of 11.

Linocut carefully hand carved on Japanese vinyl, hand pulled with an etching press using high quality oil based inks and printed on Heritage printmaking paper.

Printed on sturdy Heritage paper lets you get creative with display options - either frame it to hang on your home gallery wall or prop it up, unframed, on a book or trinket shelf.

Your original print will arrive unframed, wrapped in acid free tissue and protected in sturdy packaging during transit.

Paper size: 15 x 15 cm
Print size: 10 x 10 cm

Please note, due to the handprinted nature, each print is unique and there will be slight variations within each edition.
