Na Pali State Park on the island of Kauai, Hawaii is a serene place with steep mountains carved by rainfall and covered in lush green vegetation. The Kalalau Trail is a hiking trail that wraps in and out of the mountains along the Na Pali coast. This painting was created from a reference image artist Steph Moraca took while hiking the Kalalau in spring of 2018.
The painting is made using professional grade oil paint on canvas. The piece is sealed with a gloss varnish to protect the paint from dust and dirt accumulation. A wire backing has been installed for hanging the piece. The gallery-wrapped canvas borders are painted a solid dark green shade that compliment the piece.
