The painting came from a photograph of my family on the first night in a house after leaving the traveller community that my children were raised in. For me the work symbolises this shift in our lives. Equally between the time the photograph was taken and the painting was made my children lost their birth father and for me- the duvet became symbolic of his presence- like the wing of the angel.
This image for me holds many meanings that touch on our everyday but also has a myth like quality that is ambiguous but never the less present, which really interests me.
This is one of four works working within the same theme.
Acrylic paint on canvas board- framed in a white wooden frame.
