Mithymna is a mixed media collage/assemblage on canvas. The canvas size is 20cm x 20cm with a depth of 3.5cm. Mithymna combines tissue paper, canvas fabric, photograph transfers, threads and acrylic paint. Two pebbles, collected from the island of Lesvos, are arranged on the surface of the canvas.

‘Mithymna’ is inspired by thoughts and memories of time in Molyvos, in particular in the harbour of Molyvos town, located on the north coast of the Greek island of Lesvos.

Materials used:

Tissue paper, canvas fabric, photograph transfers, threads, acrylic paint, collected pebbles
