“Come upon my heart in love, my beautiful cat: hold back your claws and let me sink into your beautiful eyes, mixed with agate and metal": thus Charles Baudelaire inspired me to create this work. The woman with a goblet of wine in her left hand, lying in the arms of her beloved, seems to sink her gaze into the “window on the world” that seems to offer her the presence of a cat turned toward her. He is depicted from behind, but he is the real ruler of the scene. I have transfused the essence of introspection and human complexity into the painting, working with passion. Oil, through thick, full-bodied brushstrokes with vivid but earthy colors, allowed me to blur and layer emotions, creating an intimate dialogue between the subjects and the viewer. My artwork seeks to explore the fragility and strength inherent in the human soul, embodied in faces charged with symbolism. It brings to any environment an energy of deep emotional reflection.
