Acrylic and oil paint on preprocessed wooden panel in wooden frame

I was born and grew up in the land of Maas and Waal, an area between two rivers, and also close to Germany. From an early age I already had that crossing borders already evoked other feelings in me and impressed me because everything was different there. A feeling of freedom and not being constrained by all that you have experienced within your own borders. The real freedom consists in being able to empathize with something, in being able to open yourself to the unknown; opening in love to the worlds; exploring boundaries and crossing them.

Compare these boundaries with the frames of a work of art, for example a painting.

Matter and Mystery

Crossing boundaries in abstract art, for example, where works generally have no direct meaning, is an important issue for the artist. In his work, he or she regularly crosses borders, both in technique and in execution. With me it is the case that I am only satisfied when I myself am convinced of the mystical charge of the work.

My latest project is all about the coherence of matter [what you see] and mystery [what you feel]. Any other viewer will have different stories or feelings
than the composer. A good abstract work is alive and can therefore never be called finished.
As Mondrian said:
"Art expresses visually the evolution of life: evolution of mind and (but in the opposite direction) evolution of matter."
