Original artwork description:

I'm fascinated by time and how sometimes it seems to pass quickly and some memories appear so fresh we can't believe the events were many years ago. When we look into one are we seeing the present, the past over our shoulder or searching for what the future may hold? What are the reflections revealing to us? Do we see what we wish to see or what is reality? These questions are the basis and inspiration for a collection of oil paintings featuring a mirror and although personal to my own inner feelings, the viewer is left to explore their own answers . . .

The use of brush and palette knife to apply the Michael Harding oils gives texture and immediacy to this wistful, impressionistic painting.
The sides are left unpainted and ready for hanging but the painting is suitable for framing if preferred. It is initialed on the front and signed on the back.

One of the photographs shows 'My Mirror Gently Weeps' in a recent exhibition together with some of the others from the mirror collection - these can be found listed separately. *This listing is for one painting only*

Sometimes I write poetry and this is the one which inspired this particular painting

' Are you future or laden past,
joy anew or shadow cast?
Reflections glimpsed as midnight creeps
for which my mirror gently weeps? '
