This is based on an abstract project I started years ago, a collection of random drips, and extra colours to finish up. Only more recently I thought to turn it into a self portrait… of sorts.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment paper, solid yet pliable. The paper is made to this size to get the unique, uneven deckled edges which adds to the overall textural effect.
The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress…. Including the early page with the drips that sat on a shelf for a long time.
