Color-field painting, with Action painting, one of two major strains of the 20th-century art movement known as Abstract Expressionism or the New York school.
Mark Rothko was the leading pioneer of Abstract Expressionism.

I have painted this painting in the style of Mark Rothko after the training in:
In the Studio: Postwar Abstract Painting. - Mark Rothko Studio Exercise - by The Museum of Modern Art.

I covered the bottom half of the canvas with oil mixing black with a small amount of red and top half of the canvas with oil mixing black with a small amount of green.
I didn't wait until the first layer is dry, I did is wet-on-wet (alla prima).
Color-fields painted in white, red and green.
Here I decided to experiment more using egg yolk and white. which gave an interesting texture and slightly glossy sheen in some places in the painting.
