I conceived the series of works entitled “Musical fragment” based on the feelings and emotions that I have experienced during high school, when the beautiful atmosphere of the instrumental concerts that I have attended, has enchanted my soul and at the same time sparked my imagination, giving me the urge to represent in a physical realm the precise musical strains of the musicians, which through hard work and mastery of their instruments, bring out to light the beauty of life and bestow unto their audience the beautiful feelings that enrich us. Each of the works entitled “Musical fragment” represent sound under the different forms they are perceived – different pitches, tones and more – but when put together they form the whole repertoire of a musical piece. This series, which is for the better part made up of sculptures made from glass – I chose at one point this material precisely to highlight the transparency, the accuracy and the fluidity of the sound – with slight interventions on the overall shapes either by joining or inserting other materials, in order to emphasize the pulse and the vibration of the sound embodied in the instrument that I have used, is meant to bring to the spectator's hearts, even if for just a moment, visual and inner joy.
