Original artwork description:
I came across these two in the rehearsal rooms during the Southern Ontario Summer Institute, where I was resident artist. The light from the window was inspiring as well as their music. These teenagers are exceptionally talented. It is painted on gessoed paper, initially using a Staedtler pen and then overpainted with acrylic, with some more line work added at the end. I like using the acrylic paint loosely with a lot of flow medium and water - I think it helps to depict the movement and emotion. It is mounted with ivory HP balanced board and framed in a square cut 1" limed oak frame.
