Mixed media on canvas.
150cm x 100cm x 3.5cm. The deep 3.5cm sides can be finished in either dark grey, or white.
This heavily textured piece, in oils, acrylic and stone, depicts a serene and peaceful image.
Cool duck-egg blues, greys and white hues, have been layered in translucent glazes over the heavily stone-textured base - Lifting and erasing, exposes the gold tones beneath.
The texture has been formed with small pebbles, creating the need to touch and explore the surface of this canvas to fully appreciate its depths.
My paintings are often inspired by my love and fascination with ever-changing skies and cloud formation. I try to capture the movement and mood of the skies and the many changes the light can make to the atmosphere of a painting - Calm and dreamy, to dramatic and surreal.
