If you've seen - and liked - my previous Murrumbidgee watercolors, you're almost certain to have come to the conclusion, rightly so, that Australian rivers are a bit like Dutch licorice - an acquired taste.
Muddy brown, sluggish, sprinkled with dead tree trunks, they look like the ideal environment for monstrous pre-historic monsters to wallow around in.
However once you overcome that time-travelling mind-set these muddy meandering streams grow on you as their dreamy timelessness seeps into your consciousness.
Unless, of course, you forgot to leave your cell phone at home ...
