felt landscape with stitching in silk thread.
I was inspired by our local landscape and the murmurations of starlings that happen every evening if it is fine during the winter.
I am using wool as a medium as it is a natural material, which I think marries well with the subject of the painting. Wool is an amazingly versatile medium and extremely textured, which makes the surface interesting for the viewer both close up, and far away.
