Multiverse
“Multiverse” is a reflection of my fascination with the layered realities that emerge from my experiences of REM intrusions. In this painting, I sought to capture the concept of multiple dimensions or parallel realities coexisting within the same space. The fluidity of form and the interplay of abstract figures symbolize the constant shift between these worlds—how they overlap, blend, and dissolve into one another, much like the way images appear and transform during my dream-like states.
The color palette, dominated by blues and greens, invokes a sense of depth and mystery, inviting the viewer to explore the various layers of reality that are not immediately visible. Warmer tones punctuate the piece, representing moments of clarity or revelation that pierce through the surreal fog. The figures themselves, abstract and spectral, are meant to evoke the feeling of being caught between states of being—neither fully formed nor entirely abstract.
In “Multiverse,” I wanted to explore the boundaries between the seen and unseen, the real and the imagined, and the known and the unknown. It’s about the way multiple versions of reality can exist within us and around us, simultaneously affecting our perception. This painting, much like the nature of dreams and REM intrusions, challenges the viewer to consider what might lie beyond the surface of what we perceive as “real.”
