I love painting birds with the palette knife. Up close portraits help me focus on the personality of the bird and its eyes. With this reference, the beak called out to me more than the eyes and I totally had fun doing it.

This original painting is heavily textured as it has been painted exclusively with the palette knife. The painting ships unframed. I will be very happy to offer framing suggestions if needed, just drop me a line.
