Original artwork description:

Gouache painting of the view from the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California. The winery is a California Historical Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Materials:
Gouache on Trekell Watercolor panel. The watercolor paper on archival Gatorfoam panel is the 260lb./356 gsm cold press, acid-free paper from Arches, a mainstay in the materials market since 1492. Located in Lorraine, France, the Arches Mill has perfected a design that can take on water without bending, buckling, or breaking.

Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor. Gouache also has chalk or Calcium Carbonate added to make it flat and opaque.

The painting is protected with a sealing wax medium, which is buffed to a luster finish.
It is unframed, ready to be put in a standard 6"x8" frame.
